Valentine’s Day Shenanigans

It seems an appropriate time to write a quick post about Valentine’s day in Cakeadoodledo world.

I love the stories that come in with the orders: lots of girls order them for their chaps, and although they are sometimes pink and red, we do a lovely line in boy colours. I really enjoy customers explaining what their beloved likes and doesn’t like, their little quirks and foibles. I am very proud to say that following on from Valentine’s cakes I have gone on to make the wedding cake on more than one occasion. Here are a just a few of my favourite cakes from this year…

Chocolate is always goes down well too. The red hearts are acceptable because the cake is CHOCOLATE.

Then of course we got properly, properly girly and romantic

In the midst of the Valentine’s bake-off I also made a cake to celebrate Exeter Food Festival’s tenth birthday. I went to the photo call with some rather exciting local food heroes of mine, hiding my hands, which were permanently dyed red and tried not to stare and grin too much.
Think I got away with it. To be honest a massive red velvet cake is a good way of getting people on your side…

  1. That is BEAUTIFUL !
I particularly enjoy the flowery pastel cupcakes (quite normal since I am a girl !) They look so delicate.
The wedding cake is really tempting as well.
